Some simple symmetry from our Norbury kitchen project.
Balanced floor-to-ceiling cabinetry frames the central sink and window, creating a calm and harmonious focal point within the space. The soft hand painted blue finish is beautifully complemented by warm brass hardware and subtle detailing, bringing both elegance and warmth to the room.
The long run of upper cabinets and integrated appliances ensures practical storage without disrupting the visual flow, while the generous island and upholstered seating invite relaxed everyday living. Clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and carefully considered lighting all work together to create a kitchen that feels both structured and welcoming.
A perfect example of how symmetry, when paired with craftsmanship, creates timeless design.
Our Norbury Kitchen book seat is a little oasis of calm tucked into the corner of this busy kitchen, a quiet retreat within the heart of the home.
Framed by bespoke cabinetry and finished in the same rich hand-painted tone as the kitchen, the built-in bench offers generous storage below and open shelving above for treasured books and personal pieces. The addition of a classic library ladder brings both charm and practicality, allowing easy access to the upper shelves while adding a beautiful architectural feature.
Layered with soft cushions and positioned beside the window to capture natural light, this cosy nook invites you to pause, whether for a morning coffee, an evening read, or simply a quiet moment away from the bustle of daily life.
Harley’s Wishlist 🐾
When Harley ordered his kitchen from Sexton & Sons, top of his wish list was a dedicated bed space within the island, perfectly positioned to keep an eye on the garden (and any passing squirrels). Naturally, his partner June approved the brief… although she was a little camera shy on the day.
Seamlessly built into the island, this cosy nook ensures Harley and June are never far from the heart of the home. It’s warm, sheltered, and perfectly placed to supervise daily kitchen life, from breakfast prep to evening gatherings.
Because at Sexton & Sons, every family member is considered in the design, even the four-legged ones.
You know your kitchen is truly bespoke when the interior of your pantry is crafted to complement your wide board Oak flooring.
Behind the elegant in-frame doors lies a beautifully finished oak interior, complete with generous shelving, deep drawers, and carefully considered storage for everyday essentials. The natural warmth of the timber contrasts perfectly with the hand-painted cabinetry, creating a hidden moment of craftsmanship that feels both luxurious and practical.
It’s these thoughtful details, the ones you discover when you open a door, that make a kitchen genuinely bespoke.
We love how this turned out, and hope you do too.
Our Norbury kitchen offers a refined alternative, with the wash area centrally positioned within a beautifully balanced run of tall cabinetry. A quartz splashback and antique mirror add depth and subtle reflection, enhancing both light and texture.
Flanking the space, double-door cabinetry discreetly conceals the fridge freezer, complete with bespoke crafted ventilation detailing integrated into the doors.
A seamless blend of function, symmetry, and thoughtful design.
